Three Little Pigs (another tail)

Upon a time, lived three happy piglets near a dense forest. They grew up together but the eldest one had seen the city and had “big” ideas. Came a time before one particular winter, when their old house was in a state of disrepair, that they discussed repairing their home.

The eldest piggy had his own ideas though. He wanted to build a brick house. But the two other piggies liked the old house they lived in which was made of stone, wood and straw. So the eldest pig, unable to convince the others, went off to find a setting for his own house project.

The other two piggies decided to salvage what they could from the old house. But they had planned to have six hooves, not four. So the work went slow. And winter came on fast.

The eldest piggy in the meanwhile had hired builders from the city. These builders cleared off a part of the forest for the new brick house. They also cleared off more of the forest just because they could, and as, well, they were already there with their noisy and polluting equipment.

They built a fine house for the eldest piggy and left.

Now as a lot of the forest had been cleared, the natural balance had been topsy-turvied. The once safe haven of the piggies started to become dangerous for them, but they were clueless.

Poor old wolf, not having eaten in days, just couldn’t stop himself from going after the piggies when he saw them. Poor little piggies; their in-disrepair house was no longer safe. The wolf blew half of it down and chased them out and to the eldest piggy’s brick house.

Here the piggies were safe and would have lived happily except for the constant fear they had of the wolf now being around. So they hid in their brick house and stopped being playful and outdoorsy. And they would have lived like that forever.

Luckily, the forest police soon heard about the wolf and came over to help the piggies. They took the wolf in, fed him and told him to help the piggies rebuild their old house. They also instructed the eldest piggy to initiate a reforestation drive.

Soon, harmony and balance was restored to the forest. And all lived happily.
