Learning something new, something that you’ve been trying to wrap your head around for a while, or something that would help you, can sometimes be very challenging and difficult. The barriers to learning are many, but the approach to drop them are similar. Here’s our list:

  1. Be receptive and appreciative – don’t disregard anyone, especially those closest to you
  2. All questions are good – unless you don’t wait for responses
  3. Don’t procrastinate practice – enjoy what you do and make practice fun
  4. Collaborate – peer groups in the digital age can be veritable fountains
  5. Introspect regularly – all mechanisms could do with some fine tuning now and again
  6. Ego is not bigger than id – until you make it… don’t make it
  7. Practice wellness – calmness is always the best approach
  8. Research, research, research!
  9. Remember, knowledge is not wisdom

What works for you when you recognize a barrier to your learning?
